The Half Note Jazz Club, the most familiar live club of Athens, has had a successful life of 33 years and has been recognized by the public as one of the most successful and consistent as to the progress and quality, club.

The Half Note Jazz Club was opened in 1979 by Nickos Sachpasidis in a basement of Michalakopoulou. In the early 80s Dimitri Deiktaki has continued , while in 1995 the brothers George and Panagiotis Georgas collaborated with Dimitris Deiktaki and then found the permanent living quarters on the street Trivonianou 17 in Mets.

The Half Note Jazz Club contributed significantly to the creation of jazz stage in Greece while the cozy space has hosted some of the most important names of the international music scene. Among them are Dr. Lonnie Smith, Danny Richmond, Dexter Gordon, Monty Alexander, Benny Wallace, Archie Shepp, Arthur Blythe, Steve Lacy, Chico Hamilton, Mal Waldron, Benny Golson, Vuster Williams, Lou Donaldson and many others.

 

Every year from October to May we ​​organize 250 concerts with about 30 different bands from around the world. The music that plays in Half Note now covers the very wide range, all those types of music that move around jazz and blues, as is the music of the world, Latin, soul and funk, and more, by managing thereby satisfying a large number of music together and foremost, to Athens diverse musical stimuli.

 

What makes the Half Note to be a reference room in the Athenian night for so many years is that the most difficult times insists on quality and manages to open every evening from the first to the last day of the season, with the best live music. The Athenian audience has opportunity to come into direct contact with well-known foreign artists who can present their work in a place with very good sound, warm and welcoming that manages to unite the public and artists in a big company.
