Gregory Porter was a huge hit at the 2017 Heineken Jazzaldia. That’s why the Festival organisation has decided to feature him on this year’s programme too, with a different project this time certain to cause yet another sensation with the audience: the songs of the immortal Nat King Cole to the strains of a symphony orchestra. It takes not only undeniable vocal technique, but also a special sensitivity to assume Nat King Cole’s repertoire, and Gregory Porter has both. He is the most important male voice of today’s jazz. Winner of a Grammy for best jazz vocal album in 2014 and 2016.
