Known for the skill of his compositions and for his unusual approach to playing the oud, this composer born in Lebanon but citizen of the world has been at the international forefront since the mid-80s. Abou-Khalil has recorded with traditional Arab musicians and with classical and contemporary music string quartets (Kronos, Modern Ensemble).
