“Riga Jazz Stage” announces new season 2019

International Jazz Artist Contest “Riga Jazz Stage” announces the new season of 2019 in two categories – “Jazz vocal” and “Jazz piano”.
As usual, also in 2019 “Riga Jazz Stage” will fascinate its viewers – inhabitants and guests of Riga – with a unique atmosphere in the spring, April 3rd to 6th, at Cinema “Splendid Palace”.

Registration for the international jazz artist contest “Riga Jazz Stage 2019” is now officially closed! New jazz artists – talents who are willing to break into the international jazz arena already applied and are choosen by jury  – from Latvia and the whole world. The best vocalists and pianists who qualify for the second contest round, will perform in Latvia on the main stage of Cinema “Splendid Palace” in front of expert judges and music lovers.

Tickets to the contest concert, contest finals and the gala concert with contest winner announcement and performance by the outstanding Portuguese singer, “Riga Jazz Stage” resident artist Maria Joao are on sale at “Biļešu Serviss” sales points and website. www.ticketservice.lv
 
“Riga Jazz Stage” contestants will not only compete for valuable “Riga Jazz Stage” prizes, financial support to boost their career, the very special Maestro Raimonds Pauls Prize, but also will be invited to world-famous jazz festivals and favourite jazz clubs.

 
After the contest, the most outstanding contestants will have the chance to perform at such festivals as Rigas Ritmi Festival, Venezia Jazz Festival, Jazz Time Festival, Estonia.  Emerging talents will also receive an invitation to perform at such world-famous jazz clubs as Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Lincoln Center, NYC, Nardis Jazz Club and others.

 
Contest “Riga Jazz Stage” organized by the “Contemporaty Music Center” fund has taken place ever since the year 2004. Over the years, this contest has been a unique opportunity for the emerging jazz performers – vocalists and instrumentalists – from all over Europe to loudly present themselves in front of experts and a wide audience. After competing in “Riga Jazz Stage”, many emerging talents have become popular and beloved both in Latvia and beyond, for example such bright stars as Intars Busulis, Ieva Kerēvica, Jānis Stībelis, Rihards Fedotovs, Toms Rudzinskis, Kristīne Prauliņa, Daumants Kalniņš and many others.
