Criss Cross Europe brings together five young and highly talented musicians from Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, The Netherlands and Slovakia. The project searches for the building blocks that are the keys to long-term international careers for European jazz musicians. With this goal in mind, the participating partners organise yearly residencies and a concert tour for our most talented young musicians. We are honoured to be working with Louis Sclavis as artistic coach and band leader for the Criss Cross Europe band 2016. Sclavis is one of the finest clarinetists in free jazz and avant-garde, who played and recorded with a number of prominent musicians.

This year’s band members, selected by Sclavis, are Morochovic Pavel on piano (SK), Lorenz Heigenhuber on double bass (D), Maxime Bender on saxophones (LU), Neil van der Drift on drums (NL) en Jan Daelman on flute (B). Sclavis and the Criss Cross Europe band will be artists in residence at Paradox Tilburg beginning of October 2016. Sclavis will coach the musicians, taking them to a higher level, before they start their concert tour across Europe.
