Verneri Pohjola Quartet to top the year with the “Ancient History” tour

Trumpet player Verneri Pohjola ranks among the success stories of the young Finnish jazz generation. He recently signed a lengthy deal with the influential German record label ACT, who kicked off 2012 in style by releasing Pohjola’s latest album, “Ancient History”. On the side of the versatile trumpeter the quartet features front-row Finnish musicians, pianist Aki Rissanen, bassist Antti Lötjönen and drummer Joonas Riippa.
