Description:

With Renaceré (Reborn), title inspired by the lyrics from Prelude for the year 3001, her third CD, Maria Cangiano, Argentine composer and interpreter, encounters once more Astor Piazzolla´s vocal repertory. This time she does it with a different approach.  Renaceré is more than Tango. It is a journey from Tango to World Music and viceversa.  In collaboration with the genius of  Argentine pianist and composer, Miguel Pereiro, Maria  Cangiano revisits forgotten, never recorded and classical songs from the Piazzolla vocal repertory. Through this journey, she explores a variety of popular World music styles, as well as, the unlimited potential of her voice. Renaceré  is a completely new and refreshed approach to Piazzolla´s vocal composition.

This song collection follows a journey little known of Piazzolla’s musical life. Before becoming the icon of New Tango, Astor Piazzolla was the bandoneon player of the most important traditional tango orchestra of Argentina, the Aníbal Troilo Orchestra. He left Argentina and traveled widely to France, USA and then back to Argentina. The CD includes some compositions from this journey from traditional tango, passing through Jazz, Latin American Folk and afro music, up to his new tango compositions created in collaboration with the poet Horacio Ferrer. Arranged by Argentine pianist-composer Miguel Pereiro and guitar player and composer Hernán Reinado, the songs were recorded with the participation of  special  guests  musicians such  as  violin player and composer Fabián Bertero, saxo player and composer Bernardo Monk,  guitar player and composer Quique Sinesi,  flute player and composer Julián Vat, bass players Roberto Amerise and Nicolás Zacarías, and  percussionists and composers, Quintino Cinalli and Pipi Piazzolla (Piazzolla’s grandson).
