Chaabi music through a Led Zeppelin amplifier: Dudu Tassa is of Iraqi-Jewish descent and with the research of his roots he uncovered an astonishing musical story. His grandfather and great-uncle, known as the brothers Al- Kuwaiti, are still known today as the founders of modern Iraqi music. Dudu interprets their songs in Arabic and integrates qanun (zither), violin and cello into his Rock band to create a unique style, whereby groovy melodies and rocky rhythms meet up with traditional Jewish and Arabic music, which now and then sounds like psychedelic Oriental rock.
