Marc Ribot

Guitarist Marc Ribot is and remains an outsider. As one of the distinguished musicians on the New Yorker scene and as a brilliant non-conformist, for decades he has been considered as one of the virtuoso guitarists of jazz, amongst others for his rock-noise power trio, Ceramic Dog, founded in 2008. For his new album «Songs of Resistance 1948 - 2018», Ribot has put together and revived eleven songs that urgently tackle head-on the current political situation in America. The songs of resistance stem from the canon of the anti-Fascist movement in Italy during the Second World War, or from the American Civil Rights Movement, or also from Ribot's own hand. In short: «Every movement which has ever won anything has had songs!»
