The Lebanese-American pianist Tarek Yamani has taken on the task to research the commonalities between Afro-American Jazz and Classical Arabian music and to combine the two genres. The result is known as Afro-Tarab and can be heard on the album «Peninsular» (2017): on it Yamani Jazz blends the quarter tones and the rhythms of the Arabian peninsula as if they had always belonged together.
