Environmental benefits

Collectivemeans of transport

Reaching the event venue by environmentally friendly collective transport (trains, buses, trams/streetcars) produces many environmental benefits: if the average distance of an audience member is 50km, the total emissions of the 400 audience members all travelling by private car are 4.87t CO2, or 2.8t CO2 if this car is electric with an energy mix of 70% fossil fuels, or 0.2t of CO2 if this car is electric but powered only by renewable energy sources, or 0.1t if the audience members travel only by electric bikes, or 0.55tof CO2 if the audience members travel only by bus, or 0.40t of CO2 if the audience members travel only by train or tram, or 0t if they move by foot or bicycle.

Carsharing and car pooling

The use of car sharing and car-pooling instead of private car use would lead to a total emission of 1.46t CO2 for the 400 audience members with an overall reduction of 3.41t CO2.
