Julian works in all formats and is available for commissions, workshops and collaborative work. His music has been described as supremely lyrical, with beautiful melodies whilst staying cliche free. At 20 he joined the much acclaimed band Loose Tubes. Over the past 30 years, he has toured and recorded throughout the world with leading musicians such as Hermeto Pascoal, Dave Holland, John Taylor, Django Bates, John Scoffield, Kenny Wheeler, John Abercrombie, and Bill Frisell. He is also in high demand throughout Europe as a side man. He holds the position of professor of jazz saxophone at the prestidgeous KUG Institute of Jazz in Austria and currently lives in Graz.
