This year again Italian jazz continues to take action to support the areas hit by earthquakes in the centre of Italy. Four cities will be involved, confirming the commitment that started already in the 2017 edition to have four consecutive days of concerts in four different regions of Italy: on 30th August in Camerino (MC), on 31st August in Scheggino (PG), on the 1st September in Amatrice (RI) and on Sunday 2nd September with the main event in L’Aquila.

Hundreds of musicians will be involved, arriving from all areas of Italy to confirm their commitment to this major event that became a symbol of the common effort of the whole jazz sector in Italy to support the areas in the central part of Italy that were seriously damaged by earthquakes in 2009 and 2016. To lead the organisation of this edition of the event there will be the newly established Italian Jazz Federation (IJI), gathering for the first time in one single organisation musicians, promoters, festival and venue directors, labels, booking agencies all active in the jazz scene in Italy. The new Federation, presided at the moment by the renowned Italian musician Paolo Fresu, perfectly exemplifies the work that has been done in the last years to better coordinate all the different stakeholders of the sector in Italy, that was able to produce great results such as this event that started in the year 2015 in the city of L’Aquila.

The event is promoted by MIBAC, the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Affairs, with main sponsor SIAE, Italian Society of Authors and Publishers, with the support of NUOVOIMAIE, the technical support from CAFIM, and it is organised by IJI, I-Jazz Association of Italian Jazz Festivals, MIDJ Association of Italian Jazz Musicians, and the Casa del Jazz in Rome. Again for this edition is confirmed the support from the municipalities of L’Aquila, Scheggino, Camerino and Amatrice, and of local promoters for the individual days of the event: Associazione VisioninMusica (Scheggino), Musicamdo Jazz and TAM-Tutta un'Altra Musica (Camerino) and Fara Music (Amatrice).

The full programme of the event will be soon announced by the organisers.
