This year's Jazz Cerkno festival will take place in mid-July, at the same venue as last year, in the parking lot at the old ETA factory, which is only a ten-minute walk from the city centre. Between 15 and 17 July, we will listen to performances by ten international and Slovenian ensembles, which will showcase a very diverse range of jazz music. From those who flirt with traditional and classical music through experimental approaches that encompass both electronics and minimalism, to free improvisation and creative reimagining the jazz past.
Musicians from the USA, Sweden, Greece, Italy, Austria, Poland, Serbia and Slovenia will perform on the stage of our festival. All Slovenian jazz musicians will present themselves with international formations, which will have their premiere Slovenian performance in Cerkno. For the first time in Slovenia, we will also hear most international bands. In addition to the main program, which will take place under a covered tent, we have, as in all previous years, prepared a rich accompanying program with an exhibition, a round table, additional concerts and workshops.
