Saalfelden Jazz Festival and Rahofer present a new visual leitmotif
The Saalfelden Jazz Festival will take place from August 25 to 28, 2016. We are delighted to present to you the 2016 visual leitmotif as well as the opening act, for which, as in previous years, artistic directors Michaela Mayer and Mario Steidl have chosen an Austrian musician.
SHAKE STEW will officially open the Saalfelden Jazz Festival on Friday, August 26, on the Main Stage.

Headed by managing director Marco Pointner, the Saalfelden Tourism Board will handle the administration and finances of the festival. Cultural manager Daniela Neumayer will assure that operations run smoothly.
The idea behind this year’s visual leitmotif:
Sound as form
“Sound as object” is the visual leitmotif for the 2016 Saalfelden Jazz Festival. It is the brainchild of the Rahofer Advertising Agency, which has returned to the Saalfelden Jazz Festival as lead designer after an interval of three years: Sound can take on any shape or form, from pointed to hard tones, from soft to fluid melodies, from slick synthesizer solos to sinuous string and raw pizzicato sequences. This principle especially applies to jazz: like no other genre, jazz explores the margins of music-making.
