After the successful 2016 edition of the Luxembourg Jazz Meeting & Friends, music:LX is pleased to continue the partnership with the Abbey of Neumünster and organize the General Assembly of the French Association Jazzé Croisé at Neumünster on the 29th and 30th of March.
Every year, a member of AJC (gathering the most renowned French jazz festivals) welcomes the General Assembly of the association. This year, it will be held for the first time abroad and in Luxembourg! Combined with a showcases evening, the event will allow French festival directors and the public to discover or rediscover three Luxembourgish bands with a true export potential: Pit Dahm Trio, Maxime Bender Universal Sky and Pol Belardi’s Force will play on March 29th.
At first, the Pit Dahm Trio will showcase a selection of tracks from its first album Omicron, released on the Slovak label Hevhetia in 2016. His innovating compositions are a clever display of a technique and organic jazz.
Saxophonist Maxime Bender will then present his new project Universal Sky, with Manu French guitarist Manu Codjia, as an opportunity to let go of the barriers between genres and eliminate cultural boundaries. The first album by Universal Sky will be recorded in 2017 and later released on the French label Laborie Jazz.
To end the evening, Pol Belardi’s Force will immerse the audience into the cosmic creation process through compositions that swing between atmospheric bridges and explosive sections. The upcoming album will be released on March 31st, 2017 on the Dutch label Double Moon/Challenge Records.
