Aki Takase returns to Budapest Music Center to record & perform her latest musical vision, Carmen Rhapsody featuring the mezzo soprano opera singer Mayumi Nakamura, saxophonist Daniel Erdmann, and cellist Vincent Courtois. Carmen Rhapsody combines Georges Bizet's famous opera with elements inspired by John Cage. During their residency at BMC, the artists will create a studio recording and perform the project live at Opus Jazz Club on the 18th of August. The upcoming album will be released on BMC Records, joining Takase's previous records on the label, Thema Prima (BMCCD268) and the recently released Isn't It Romantic? (BMCCD301).
