Pascal Schumacher (LU/DE/NL)
"This might well be Schumacher’s most ambitious project to date. For this recording he has composed a palette of timbres from minimalistic classical to jazz. (...) Pascal Schumacher creates orchestral fascinations which can only be fathomed by carefully listening to them over and over again. A magnificent album! This music would fit in perfectly in the wonderful world of Haruki Murakami.” Jazzmozaiek (*****). Album teaser: Left Tokyo Right. Pascal Schumacher will be touring extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas to present his latest album Left Tokyo Right, internationally released to critical acclaim.
LINE UP: PASCAL SCHUMACHER (vibraphone, glockenspiel), FRANZ VON CHOSSY (piano), POL BELARDI (bass), JENS DÜPPE (drums).
Extended line up including local or international guests can be discussed.
Frank Deruytter Quartet feat. Peter Erskine (BE/USA)
"This second release is just as impressive as the first one. The sound is perfect, and the quartet has found a wonderful groove by mixing the subtlety of Erskine, the lyrical solitude of De Nolf, Legnini’s often funky imagination and Deruytter’s commitment. It’s something you can listen to again and again. Put it on repeat and it won’t get tired." Le Soir.
It is extremely rare that the Frank Deruytter Quartet is available for concerts in its original formation.
We're currently booking the last open dates in Europe between May 8 and 15!
Audio: Podgy Pooch.
LINE UP: FRANK DERUYTTER (tenorsax), PETER ERSKINE (drums), ERIC LEGNINI (piano), BART DE NOLF (double bass)
Khalifé Schumacher Tristano (LB/LU)
Pianist Francesco Tristano is one of Deutsche Grammophon's rising stars, also known for his collaborations with numerous electronic artists such as Carl Craig. Percussionist Bachar Khalifé is entrenched in the Arabic music culture. Finally, vibraphonist Pascal Schumacher is a master of improvisation. Inspired by these diverse musical backgrounds, the music of this electro-acoustic trio is characterised by curiosity, contrast and spontaneity. Lyrical and fascinating rhythmic phasing spins a web of finely woven soundscapes and spatial loops. Their debut album 'Afrodiziak' was released on the renowned German label Edel.

Michel Bisceglia & Olivier Louvel (BE/FR)
Last summer at Gent Jazz, pianist Michel Bisceglia and guitarist Olivier Louvel got up on stage together. It heralded the beginning of a new musical adventure. For the French guitarist there was no question of showing off. By contrast, his eclectic style is characterised by subtle harmonies and delicate melodies which are the perfect match to Bisceglia’s musical flexibility. In France, Louvel is an established name and has already played alongside musical greats such as Antonio Sanchez, Ibrahim Maalouf, Jun Miyake, Manu Katché, Nana Vasconcelos, Nana Mouskouri etc. We know the musical jack-of-all-trades Michel Bisceglia from his film soundtracks (Marina, Blue Bird), his numerous collaborations (Buscemi, Channel Zero, Viktor Lazlo) and his own trio that has already been around for 20 years. His first joint album with Louvel will be released in 2016.
LINE UP: MICHEL BISCEGLIA (piano), OLIVIER LOUVEL (guitar)
Viktor Lazlo: 3 Women (FR)
For three years Viktor Lazlo devoted herself to Billie Holiday’s rich repertoire. After touring from France to Turkey and from Belgium to Martinique, the moment had come for the next instalment. '3 Femmes’ is an ode to the three divas of jazz: Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. Piano, guitar and bass, beautiful in all its simplicity. With heart and soul, and assisted by 'partner in crime' Michel Bisceglia, Viktor Lazlo seamlessly combines these 3 voices, 3 lives, 3 divas resulting in a full night’s entertainment.
