Bodrum Jazz Festival will take place on 1-8 September at various spots on Bodrum Peninsula. The festivals theme will be Pop & Jazz and with the contribution of local and foreign artists, the rich program will include concerts, workshops, causeries, exhibitions and more.
Many institutions including The Jazz Society of Turkey and Bodrum Munticipality are supporting this festival curated by Özlem Oktar Varoğlu. Festival activities will take place at some historic and archeologic sites such as the Mossoleum and the Ottoman Shipyard to promote Bodrum better. There will also be activities at private places in order to contribute to Bodrum’s tourism.
Bodrum Jazz Festival Design Contest has Concluded!
Arranged by Bodrum Jazz Festival and Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Faculty of Fine Arts Graphic Design Department, Bodrum Jazz Festival Design Contest has concluded. 33 posters representing student’s works during 2018 spring semester under the leadership of Prof.Erol Turgut were opened to competiton on 28.05.2018. The artworks were examined by faculty members: Prof. Erol Turgut, Prof. Dr. Enis Timuçin Tan, Coşkun Türk, Sahil Akman; Festival Curator Özlem Oktar Varoğlu and Festival Coordinator Tuğçe Alpaslan.
The artwork deserving the first place beloged to Musa Kılıçarslan who expressed both Bodrum and Jazz with his unique lines. Gamze Ağır had the second place and Samet Tuna had the third place in the competition. Musa Kılıçarslan’s work will be used in all visual materials of the festival. Also, an exhibition containing all the artworks will be open for visit at the festival program.
