G Livelab offers music lovers a new G Liveslow concept, where live music can be enjoyed, for example, while lounging on a bean bag chair, lying on a yoga mat or relaxing in an armchair under a blanket. Our first G Liveslow concert will be starring the boundary-breaking musician Heli Hartikainen, whose aesthetics stem from a fascination with enduring textures, functions and forms. At the concert, she will perform her acclaimed work CHRONOVARIATIONS.

5.2. Vicki Kristina Barcelona Band (US) Plays the Music of Tom Waits

VKB Band, also known as Vicki Kristina Barcelona, is a New York City based trio comprised of Rachelle Garniez, Amanda Homi and Mamie Minch, three deeply distinctive musicians, all acclaimed performing singer-songwriters with a wealth of collective experience.

12.2. Karja/Renard/Wandinger (EE/FR/DE) + Jonatan Snapir

Karja/Renard/Wandinger is an international ensemble focusing on experimental improvised music. They started playing together in 2019 and in summer 2022 they released their dynamic debut album named "The Wrong Needle". In February 2024 they released their second album under BMC Records – "Caught in My Own Trap”.

February 2025 will mark the 80th anniversary of the birth of composer and musician Edward Vesala. G Livelab Tampere will celebrate the anniversary on February 19 with a concert evening that will highlight Vesala's artistic personality and his unique musical legacy.

20.2. D.O.P.A. + Viive

D.O.P.A. is a quartet led by guitar virtuoso Timo Kämäräinen, including Juho Kanervo on bass, Tuomas Timonen on drums and Alexi Tuomarila on piano. D.O.P.A. creates instrumental music combining elements of prog, jazz and electro pop. The evening is opened by Viive, a collaborative project between keyboardist/vocalist Riikka Suutari and drummer/multi-instrumentalist Antti Niiranen.

Joona Toivanen Trio celebrates their new album Gravity at G Livelab. The night will be opened by Pauli Lyytinen.

5.3. Marquis Hill Composers Collective (US)

Marquis Hill, a trumpeter from Chicago, is at the forefront of the international jazz scene. Award-winning Hill's compositions combine the worlds of post-bop, hip-hop and R&B, and an example of his creative power is the latest "Composers Collective: Beyond The Jukebox" where Marquis pays tribute to several of the industry's biggest stars together with professional musicians such as Jeff Parker, Joel Ross and Makaya McCraven.

6.3. Kimmo Pohjonen & Eric Echampard (FR)

Kimmo Pohjonen (accordion) and Eric Echampard (drums) joined forces already in 2000 with the goal to make totally improvised music, live on stage with no rehearsals. They have succeeded in their aim to ride the edge of melody, counterpoint, energy and tension as proven by the enthusiastic audiences at each performance, as well as by the satisfaction and exhilaration of the two players.

12.3. Emma Rawicz Quartet (UK)

Multi-award-winning British saxophonist and composer Emma Rawicz emerged on the international stage to critical acclaim with her first release on the prestigious ACT label at the age of just 21. Now, after making her debut on many of Europe’s most important stages and festival lineups, including Ronnie Scott’s, Cadogan Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic, Burghausen Jazz Festival and more, she has sown the seeds of a major career, and become known as one of the leading artists of her generation.

Jimi Tenor is a pioneer of Finnish weirdness, which in his music smoothly jumps from experimental rock and jazz all the way to psychedelic soul and funk.

Nikki Hill is sweet seduction, sweeter threat, and smoldering energy. An original force in American music, she is tender and tough, flamboyant, witty and dangerous. To put it plainly, Hill brings daggers back to the stage and studio.
