The UK’s largest international festival of new and experimental music.
The Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival 2016 will include new works from Jennifer Walshe, Rebecca Saunders and Enno Poppe.
The 39th edition of the festival, which will take place 18 – 27 November 2016, will also feature three UK premieres by composer-in-residence Georg Friedrich Haas.
The opening weekend includes the premiere of Claudia Molitor’s hour-long Walking with Partch, written for the composer’s micro-tonal instruments and performed by Ensemble Musikfabrik.
Ensemble Musikfabrik, Klangforum Wien, Ensemble Resonanz, Arditti Quartet and Quatuor Diotima will be among those giving concerts, and soloists will include Peter Brötzmann, Elliott Sharp, Gareth Davis and Richard Uttley.
