We’re back with another wonderful festival line-up featuring the very best local, national and international talent!
American pianist, Craig Taborn gets things underway as he launches the seventh(!) edition of Brilliant Corners, before the Ulster Youth Jazz Orchestra showcase the very best upcoming players in the region. Shabaka Hutchings visits with his stargazing psychedelic outfit The Comet is Coming inviting us all on a cosmic journey. Japanese born, Ireland based Izumi Kimura explores the cracks between composed and improvised music, and the Scott Flanigan Trio with Ant Law will keep things rolling with a new commission! We welcome back the 13-piece boundary pushing – and completely bonkers – Brian Irvine Ensemble for another life affirming night of music. The utterly brilliant Liane Carroll performs with her trio, and the Pauli Lyytinen Magnetia Orkesteri pay us a visit all the way from Finland! Trip-hop informed jazz heavyweights Get The Blessing close this year’s festival as they bring their irresistible brew of Bristolian beats to Belfast.
If you have been before, you’ll know what to expect; amazing, surprising, life-changing music. If you haven’t, we hope you’ll come along and experience Belfast’s only jazz festival in all its bijou glory!
