InJazz online event 25 and 26 June & announcement festival line-up

InJazz, the biggest Dutch jazz showcase and network event, will be hosted online this year. On Thursday 25 and Friday 26 June, this initiative of Buma Cultuur takes over the ‘jazz wide web’. Join the conference on an online platform with easy access and registration. The programme consists of short discussions and presentations, matchmaking sessions and the announcement of the Buma Boy Edgar Prize 2020. The festival presents a line-up of Dutch acts and will be livestreamed from the jazz venues of the Netherlands: LantarenVenster and BIMHUIS.

inJazz: the online edition
Managing director Ikaros van Duppen: “Especially in these times it is so important to keep in touch with Dutch colleagues and colleagues from abroad and to keep the conversation going. Of course we would love to see the Dutch musicians live on stage in our favourite venues together with a varied audience, but we’ll share their beautiful music online instead. The inJazz festival livestream as well as the online conference is free of charge for everyone, with the support of funds. We do appreciate a voluntary donation. A donation button will appear during the online event. We will invest the full proceeds in at least two extra live shows by selected inJazz 2020 artists in the future. These shows will take place at BIMHUIS and LantarenVenster – this way we support both the Dutch artists and the Dutch venues.”

Virtual conference
Keep (online) networking during inJazz 2020. Check out the panels with (inter)national musicians and other professionals on up-to-date topics. Such as: How do you effectively present your work online? What is the vision of our jazz venues and festivals on the nearby future? Which international lines will soon be open again? And what about copyright and livestreaming? These topics and more will be discussed during the conference. Of course you can join the inJazz Matchmaking Sessions, as usual! The conference takes place during the day on Thursday 25 and Friday 26 June. With on Friday afternoon the announcement of the Buma Boy Edgar Prize 2020. You need a registration, for free, to join the online conference. This is possible from 1 June on via www.injazz.nl.

RIVM safety guidelines
With the organization, inJazz follows strict guidelines on safety and health, advised by RIVM – the National Institue for Public Health and the Environment. This means that the conference will be an online event this year. No audience is present during the live showcases in LantarenVenster and BIMUIS. On both locations, inJazz follows the safety guidelines such as keeping distance, the number of people in one room and of course cleaning the locations with attention.

“Let’s unite for live jazz on stage!”
Managing director Ikaros van Duppen: “We are here for the jazz scene, we are here for musicians and we are here for all other music professionals. Especially now it’s necessary to show the importance of the industry and to look forward together. With Buma Cultuur we support the musicians in these uncertain times by booking their showcases. This helps them in a financial way and it gives them an online stage to showcase their repertoire and talent to the (inter)national industry. This online event truly is an inJazz worthy alternative!”

inJazz, initiative of Buma Cultuur, is a collaboration with Dutch Performing Arts, LantarenVenster, BIMHUIS, Europe Jazz Network and Jazz Promotion Network.
