James Francies has a fresh sound: he makes jazz sound like a whole new music genre. The young American jazz pianist, keyboardist, composer and arranger grew up in Houston but moved to New York to continue his musical studies. In 2021 he released his seconds album Purest form (Blue Note) and impressed everyone. Francies' agility has resulted in collaborations with Childish Gambino, Pat Metheny, The Roots and Lauryn Hill and also other musicians. In LantarenVenster, he will play the music from the latest album Purest form. His trio includes drummer Damian Reid on drums and Michael Moreno on guitar.
