The Jazzèbre Festival in Perpignan and in the Pyrénées Orientales department (France) continues its musical odyssey in October.
The Indian summer really means something here, by the Mediterranean sea and the Pyrénées mountains. The program opens a refreshing window on world cultures and music. Ablaye Cissoko and Cyrille Brotto caress souls, the Nikol4tet braves the storms and Walid Ben Selim flies up to the stars above the desert.
The adventures intensify even more during the last weekend of the festival on October 11, 12 and 13: Abajur connects Brazil to Brittany with the luminous voice of Juçara Marçal, Antonio Lizana admirably mixes jazz and flamenco, Frédéric Pierrot with Claude Tchamitchian and Christophe Marguet sublimate the words of Pessoa, the phenomenal Sophie Alour shows the paths to freedom that Fatoumata Diawara grabs and turns into a fireworks of sounds and colors. Jazzèbre walks around its territory in theaters, music stages, little chapels, green parks, sets up in the city or in the country side.
A festival that is definitely worth the experience.
