We are very happy to share with you a project developed by Italian trumpet player Luca Aquino and supported by EJN in the framework of “Take the Green Train - environmental sustainability in music”, co-funded by the Creative Europea programme of the European Union. “Jazz Bike Tour - the sound and the territory” consists of a tour of over 4000 km entirely by bike and 40 shows from Benevento in Southern Italy to Oslo in Norway between July and August 2017. For this tour Luca Aquino is working on a greener approach to bike touring and adopting the Green Rider previously developed by the Europe Jazz Network.
It is conceived as a series of site-specific projects tailored for each hosting city. The organisation of each event sees the participation of local artists and musicians, as well as institutions, associations from the public and private sector. A green touring-festival organised with the aim of promoting the territory and of offering high-level musical events. Cycling is a green approach to develop tourism and sustainable mobility. It is an eco-friendly passion through which one can appreciate and enjoy the territory and its distinctive historical and cultural heritage. Each jazz bike tour’s stop gives the chance to experience the territory in music events, showcases, performances, readings, in cooperation with local artists, musicians and anyone keen to join the experience. The tour will be followed by a technical equip and professional team for video shooting and recording, underlining the territory peculiarities and the musical events.
In the document here attached you will find all background info and the expected itinerary, that is still being developed. If someone is interested in organising one of these events in its territory is kindly invited to contact Tema Agency.
