A to JazZ adds a brand new pearl to it’s festival program - a conference during the festival days in 2018. A to JazZ TALKS is an initiative that aims to be a platform for professional discussions about jazz and improvised music in Bulgaria, where all the Bulgarian jazz festivals, clubs, venues, musicians can meet local and international organizations and institutions. The conference will be held on 6 & 7 July 2018, in Sofia, with the following program:
6 July - “European jazz without borders”
7 July - “The ladies in Jazz”
The A to JazZ TALKS conference will open the 8th edition of A to JazZ Festival, (6, 7 & July 2018). The lineup this year will be more than exciting, mixing the world famous headliners and European Jazz projects and the finest Bulgarian musicians.
6 July - “European jazz without borders”
- Presentation of Europe Jazz Network – history, mission, work, membership advantages and opportunities, internal and external projects.
- Jazz Festivals – models, fundraising, programming, exchange, partnerships, cultural and social impact.
7 July - “The ladies in Jazz”
- Presentation of SOFIA (Support Of Female Improvising Artist Association) – history and mission of the organization
- The challenges for women in jazz and improvisational music – open discussion.

- European Jazz: JM Jazz World Orchestra led by Luis Bonilla (International); Dock In Absolute (Luxembourg), Dainius Pulauskas Group (Lithuania).
- Bulgarian Jazz: Glo Bal Kan, Militsa Gladnishka & Mihail Yossifov Sextet, Trombobby, Two Cities One World, Lilly Ilieva & The Minimum Quartet, and the newcomers Soleil.
