Winner of the Europe’s Best Small Festival Award in 2019, at the European Festival Awards, Jazz in the Park came with a whole new concept during the pandemic – Jazz in the Park: Tiny Version. The festival took place this year from 18 to 20 September, and it brought together 1.500 people over the three days.
On this occasion, Jazz in the Park: Tiny Version has found the perfect home: The Ethnographic Park of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, a place full of history and beauty that amplified the festival vibe and created a sense of togetherness. Apart from visiting the park and having several other fun activities, people could enjoy the music of some incredibly talented local bands, and also a 90-minute concert each day of internationally acclaimed Romanian jazz bands like Teodora Brody Enache, Damian Drăghici Etnic Jazz Band and JazzyBIT.
During times like these, the event industry has to adapt and to keep in touch with its community, which is what Jazz in the Park tried to do. The event was organized respecting all the current norms and regulations, not having more than 500 people each day, and making sure everyone involved stays as safe as possible.
Given its positive response from the local community, this Tiny Version of the festival will now take place every year.
