Veneto Jazz at Teatro La Fenice di Venezia signs its second edition of Jazz&, a series of four concerts at the Sale Apollinee, different takes on jazz experimentation, open to the most innovative modern language and with a special space for young talent, who are featured as starters for the international artists in the program.
A fresh, new sound combining traditional Cuban music, Afro-Cuban rhythms and contemporary jazz. This is what happens when Cuban pianist Marialy Pacheco and German trumpet player Joo Kraus meet, in program for Saturday March 17 (7pm).
Hints of tango, blues, minimalism, from the Mediterranean and Africa and far more, live on in concert, in program Saturday March 24 (7pm), in the duo featuring Giovanni Guidi, a great improviser and refined composer, and Daniele Di Bonaventura, a highly sensitive bandoneon player. Lyrical, but also unpredictable, restless, daring to change the rules, uneasy (from an instrument like the bandoneon!) --these qualities characterize their music, inspired and highly suggestive.
The Aca Seca Trio, in program for Saturday April 14 (7pm), certainly represent the rebirth and evolution of Argentine music. Ever since beginning to play together in 1998, the three musicians have captured the attention of audiences as a real novelty on the national music scene, including their individual music careers.
All concerts in the program will include “Young Italian Jazz Talent,” part of Veneto Jazz's way of promoting music for young people.
