April might be the most genre-diverse month yet in the 2024 edition of the Czech festival JazzFestBrno.
The up-and-coming generation is represented by talented YouTubers from the prestigious Juilliard School, New Jazz Underground – performing in Brno on April 9th as part of the festival’s Club Life series. One of the biggest stars of this year's festival is stunning singer Samara Joy, now a three-time Grammy winner – a woman whose voice brings to mind legends such as Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald. She will perform at JazzFestBrno on April 13th. Other concert will be provided by the highly experienced duo Gretchen Parlato & Lionel Loueke, who will come to Brno on April 18th to present their brilliant album Lean In.
Three days later (April 21st) progressive synth genius (and a collaborator of Chris Botti) Julian "J3PO" Pollack will play. At the end of April, on the International Jazz Day (April 30th), the "bridge between jazz generations", multi-talented Emmet Cohen will take care of the celebrations – his concert will be preceded by the talented jazz duo Kravchenko Clees.
