From Thu 29 April through Sun 2 May 2021, jazzahead! will offer no less than 32 showcase concerts, besides special events, conferences, matchmaking, a professional program, and lots of networking opportunities. And together with four bands from the Netherlands, inJazz is part of the event!
Every year at jazzahead! we tirelessly inform and connect jazz people at the cosy Dutch inJazz homebase. And yes, we miss our corner booth 6B09, but of course we are happy to join the jazzahead! event platform in 2021. What better way to actively promote the four bands from the Netherlands playing the showcase festival in Bremen, and gather some new friends on the way? Covid may limit the concert scene, but the jazz sector in the Netherlands is alive and kicking and as creative as ever! Come by and say hi!

As part of jazzahead!'s official program on Saturday May 1st, inJazz presents a video documentary on the state of new Dutch jazz, as seen through the eyes of four artists who are based in the Netherlands and who all perform at the jazzahead! 2021 virtual event.
Filmed at the bar of Amsterdam's famed BIMHUIS, this conversation between pianist Rembrandt Frerichs, trumpeter Kirsi-Marja Harju, and drummers Sun-Mi Hong and Guy Salamon touches on subjects such as composing and career development, the character of the Dutch jazz club and festival circuit and the position of the Netherlands as a creative hub. With their diverse and international backgrounds, the Dutch @ jazzahead! 2021 represent a true melting pot indeed!

The bands have been waiting for over a year to perform in Bremen and it looks like they will this time!
