One of Norway's most exciting orchestras celebrates its 20th anniversary, and we all get to join the party! Hanna Paulsberg, Eirik Hegdal and Ole Morten Vågan have handpicked musical marvels from Trondheim Jazz Orchestra's entire career and we are presented with both highlights and nuggets.
Trondheim Jazz Orchestra is one of the most important and creative jazz ensembles in Norway and has maintained that position since it was established in 2000, taking part in exciting projects with Norwegian and international jazz profiles such as Chick Corea, Pat Metheny, Joshua Redman, Erlend Skomsvoll, Eirik Hegdal, Sofia Jernberg, Maria Kannegaard, Kim Myhr, Jenny Hval, Stian Westerhus, Ståle Storløkken, Kristoffer Lo and Marius Neset.
The orchestra is run as a musicians' pool, which means that the orchestra changes its instrumentation and size from project to project. This gives room for a wide repertoire. The jazz musicians that have been associated with the orchestra are among Norway's most famous.
