Maria Schneider performed with the Norwegian ensemble for the first time in Oslo and South Africa in 2014. This summer they meet again to perform at the North Sea Jazz Festival on Friday July 13. The following Monday July 16 they play the opening concert of the Molde festival, where Maria Schneider is Artist in residence of 2018. In Molde, Maria and Ensemble Denada will perform «Sue (Or In A Season Of Crime)», the piece Schneider wrote with the late David Bowie.
This composition has never before performed live. Schneider and Ensemble Denada will also perform other music yet not released on an album. Ensemble Denada is the large ensemble of the East Norway Jazz Centre, Oslo. The ensemble is supported by Arts Council Norway and the City of Oslo.
