The Monheim Triennale is an international music festival aiming to document ground-breaking artistic positions in contemporary music. Its first edition will take place from 1–5 July 2020 in Monheim am Rhein, Germany. Artistic director is Reiner Michalke.
In September, the Monheim Triennale introduced the 16 artists, who were selected and invited to develop exclusive projects for the festival. Some of these contributions have now been revealed, including the grand opening on 1 July with a commissioned composition by Marcus Schmickler, who will stage a large-scale open-air concert on both sides of the Rhine river. Numerous concerts will follow from 2 to 5 July at various venues in Monheim along the Rhine with the Kulturraffinerie K714, the new MS RheinGalaxie by boat company KD Rheinschifffahrt and Sojus 7 being the main ones.
The regular presale starts January 6th, 2020.
