The Petit faucheux welcomes the European quintet of its two associate artists: French saxophonist Léa Ciechelski and Belgian saxophonist Bo van der Werf. This quintet is an open house, where the musical worlds of our two associate artists, saxophonists Bo van der Werf and Léa Ciechelski, coexist: a sharing of compositions with multiple ramifications, open to all possibilities. The five musicians boldly color and inhabit the complex rhythms and winding melodies that make up the repertoire. Riffs and motifs intertwine, creating secret and profound trances; tempos intersect, lines are organized and respond to each other, forming clouds of shapes and colors. The improvisers play with constraints and the rules of the game, surprising themselves and engaging in an organized freedom of dialogue.
