New generation jazz and Australia - Music Meeting Festival wrap-up

Over 30 interdisciplinary performances, behind the scene interviews All Ears, sound art, space installations and workshops for families - that was Music Meeting 2024, celebrating its 38th edition.

Stormy weather caused two concert postponements, but regardless to the weather, festival gathered enthusiastic music lovers, seeking for discoveries and artistic adventures. Australian clarinetist and composer Aviva Endean lead her residency with video art, solo performance in All Ears area, special collaboration with Czech duo Irena and Vojtěch Havlovi and remarkable sound installation called Hear Muffs. New generation jazz was represented by bands like French-Syrian SARĀB, Australian Zeitgeist Freedom Energy Exchange (ZFEX) and Dutch Bnnyhunna. Based in Amsterdam Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti and Frank Rosaly (recently released album on International Anthem) performed with their fun-cumbia side project Superinca & the Galactic Green.

Last edition marked shift of the festival with one indoor day in cultural centre Lindenberg - taking a step into a new form. Focus country of 2024 was Australia - home of the oldest continuous culture on Earth.
