The NUEJAZZ Festival was awarded with the „Culture Price of the City of Nuremberg“. This is what der jury said about the festival:
Over the last ten years, NueJazz has become an important international jazz festival throughout Germany. With great courage, the initiators have managed to establish a new and innovative format in Nuremberg. The festival is a worthy successor to the renowned Jazz East-West Festival and has already established itself as an important jazz festivals in Germany. In addition to the international stars, the festival also places great importance on music education and the promotion of young talent through initiatives such as NUEJAZZ for Kids, The European Jazzworkshop, European Jazz Companions Orchestra, the NUECOMER Jazz Award and Jazz & Design. The networking within the urban community is exemplary. NueJazz celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2023. "This is a good occasion to honor the festival with a cultural award from the city of Nuremberg," said the advisory committee.
