Registration for jazzahead! 2019 opens from 26 September
jazzahead! 2019 is in its starting holes and from 26 September you can register again online for the upcoming edition as an exhibitor, co-exhibitor, professional participant or media representative. All rates and conditions for participation and hall plans are available online and can be downloaded. Please read the terms and conditions properly beforehand.
Showcase applications for jazzahead! 2019 – Attention: New dates!
From 1 – 22 November 2018, you can apply for the showcase festival. Exhibitors, co-exhibitors and professional participants registered for all days, can hand in applications online. You’ll find more information about the terms and conditions online.
The music programme which takes place during the trade fair is comprisedofa total of 40 by international juries selected short concerts. In these showcases, bands have the opportunity to put themselves before a public ranging from top professionals to individual visitors who have bought themselves day tickets. The showcasing bands and artists will be announced end of January 2019.
Next year’s showcase program consists of the following modules:
Thursday, 25 April 2019: The Norwegian Night opens the showcase festival form 7.30 pm on two stages in Exhibition Hall 7 and at Kulturzentrum Schlachthof.
Friday, 26 April 2019: From 2 PM and again from 7.30 pm, the European Jazz Meeting will take the three stages.
Saturday, 27 April 2019: The afternoon is dedicated to German bands, presenting eight bands in the German Jazz Expo. The Overseas Night is the final item on the showcase agenda, taking place on Saturday night from 7.30 pm
Call for panel proposals
Starting in mid-October, the call for conference proposals will be launched. Main topics of jazzahead!’s 2019 panel program will center around artist management and artist marketing. Speakers can submit proposals until the end of the year atinfo@jazzahead.de. Further information will be available soon on our website
Partner Country Norway
The jazzahead! partner country 2019 is Norway. "We chose Norway because of the large scale, the high level of individuality, and the sheer level of interest of its jazz scene. Norway has had a determining role in Scandinavian jazz," says Ulrich Beckerhoff, member of jazzahead's artistic direction team. "Ever since the 1970s, the Norwegian style of jazz has reached out far beyond just jazz aficionados, and found its way to a new and broad audience.”
The Norwegian Night is the start to four days of jazzahead! trade fair, during which Norway will introduce its jazz scene in Bremen. In addition, over the course of two weeks, the jazzahead! festival will present highlights of the cultural scene of our partner country in Bremen.

17 October 2018: early bird rate for professional participant registration ends
1 – 22 November 2018: showcase application period
December 2018: announcement of the showcases to the selected bands
16 January 2019: second discounted rate for professional participant registration ends
End of January 2019: public announcement of showcase selection
13 March 2019: deadline for guide entry & deadline for stand bookings
20 March 2019: deadline for ordering extra stand material (service handbook)
3 April 2019: online registration closes / registration will be possible on-site

Warning concerning EXPO GUIDE S.C. Event Fairs, EHS and others
In the past years, our exhibitors have repeatedly been contacted via mail by a company named EXPO GUIDE S.C, Event Fair, FAIR Guide and others. Please do not answer their data request! These companies send out this offer to a number of different events and the respective exhibitors. The offer consists of an entry in a low-quality online registry. However, the written consent in fact entails a hidden three-year payment obligation of more than €3,000. We would like to point out that we are in no way affiliated with those companies. The brand name “jazzahead!” was used without our knowledge or consent for these mailings. In case you receive mail or e-mail from one of these companies, we advise you to disregard and discard it. If you have already signed the offer and by doing so have entered a contract, we strongly suggest that you contest the validity of the contract. The information sheet from the AUMA (Association of the German Trade Fair Industry) contains more information and a sample reply that you can use to respond to a letter such as that from EXPO GUIDE S.C, Event Fair or FAIR Guide.
In addition, we want to warn you against EHS, Exhibitors Housing Services. Our exhibitors have been contacted by EHS directly with special hotel deals, which are not proved by us. We are in no way in contact or affiliated with this company. If you want to book safely, please use the approved hotel list by jazzahead! and BTZ.
