ShekBand, the teenage jazz trio hailing from Kyiv, has made waves in the international music scene with their unique blend of contemporary jazz, folk influences, and youthful energy. The trio's captivating performances have earned them prestigious accolades and a growing fan base.
From July 5th to 7th, 2024, ShekBand participated in the International Jazz in the Park Competition in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. This event saw 246 bands from 39 countries competing, with only 13 making it to the finals. ShekBand was among these elite finalists, delivering a live performance that left a lasting impression on the audience and judges alike.
The trio's exceptional talent was recognized with two significant awards:
- Best Composition: ShekBand's original compositions stood out for their creativity and emotional depth.
- Remarkable Musician: Anna Shekera, the pianist and harpist of the group, received this award for her outstanding musical prowess.

In June 2023, when their oldest member was just 18, ShekBand filled the largest music hall in Kyiv, showcasing their ability to attract and mesmerize jazz enthusiasts.
2024 has been a landmark year for ShekBand, as they reached the finals of two prestigious European jazz competitions:
- Jazz in the Park Competition 2024 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
- XXXII Concours Européen Tremplin Jazz d'Avignon 2024 in Avignon, France, held from July 31st to August 1st, 2024.
On their way to France, ShekBand performed concerts in Slovenia, supported by the Embassy of Ukraine in Slovenia, to raise support for Ukraine. ShekBand is set to unveil their new concert program, "Opening the Doors," a collection of original compositions that invite listeners on an emotional and musical journey. Each piece is a unique soundscape, showcasing the trio's virtuosity and artistic vision.
