The 39th edition of the annual Skopje Jazz Festival will take place from 14 to 17 of October.
Despite the unreal reality and worldwide restrictions, the program maintains the highest international level of the festival and its tradition to present the best of jazz and improvised music. Eight acts from Europe and North Macedonia will perform live at the National Opera and Ballet including Vlatko Stefanovski / Theodosii Spassov (N. Macedonia/Bulgaria), Chicuelo / Mezquida (Spain), Matija Dedic (Croatia), Toni Kitanovski Little Big Band (N. Macedonia), Radian (Austria), Svetlost + Odron Ritual Orchestra (N. Macedonia), Belmondo Quintet (France) and Saso Popovski Trio (N. Macedonia), in accordance with all health and safety regulations and protocols for indoor concerts. Plus live streaming of two exclusive concerts for Skopje Jazz Festival 2020 from NYC’s “Jazz Gallery”: Willam Parker Trio and Kris Davis/Ingrid Laubrock, and one from Oslo’s Nasjonal Jazzscene: Trygve Seim Large Ensemble, with the idea of staying connected with the creative American and Norwegian musicians who cannot travel outside their countries.
