This year marks the 29th edition of Trondheim Jazz Festival, or Jazzfest.
From the 9th to the 14th of May, over 50 shows will take place at 11 different venues around the beautiful city of Trondheim, Norway. The festival is proud to feature a line-up that ranges from up-and-coming talents from the strong local jazz scene, established Norwegian stars to international headliners.
Among this year’s artists you’ll find everything from Sarah McKenzie’s classical approach to jazz vocals, Squarepusher’s groundbreaking electronic music performed live with Shobaleader One, the celebration of Norway’s legendary singer Karin Krog’s 80th birthday, Mali superstar Oumou Sangaré to household names from the U.S. like Al Di Meola and Chris Potter. We follow new European talents closely, such as Christoph Irniger Pilgrim (SUI), Verneri Pohjola Quartet (FIN) and LABtrio (BE), Lina Nyberg (SE), Julien Desprez (FR), Horse Orchestra (NO, DK, IS, FIN) and are happy to count them among our varied program.
The festival also has its own stages dedicated to both our little ones and our seniors.
In other words: Trondheim Jazz Festival serves up high quality jazz that’s guaranteed to appeal to all music enthusiasts, young or old.
And we are very happy to welcome and host Jackie Thompson from Sages Gateshead (UK), who will be the very first participant in EJNs new Staff Exchange Programme.
