From April 21st to 28th, Tallinn International Jazz Festival Jazzkaar will celebrate its 35th anniversary. Over the years, the festival has welcomed both closer and more distant relatives of jazz from nearly sixty countries. This year’s anniversary festival boasts a diverse programme featuring contemporary jazz, blues, world music, electronic sounds and club rhythms. The vibrant springtime jazz celebration unfolds in the Telliskivi Creative City in Tallinn, with performances also reaching Tartu, Pärnu and Viljandi. We extend a warm welcome to all festival guests, whether local or from afar!
The headliner of this year’s anniversary festival is the Grammy-winning American supergroup much adored by jazz aficionados, Snarky Puppy. Christian McBride performs with his dynamic new quintet; trumpet virtuoso Theo Croker blends jazz, R&B, hip-hop and electronica in his unique music, Grammy-winning actress and singer Ledisi honours the legendary Nina Simone with her dedicated repertoire. Besides them you can find Joep Beving, Maro, Afra Kane, Eve Risser’s Red Desert Orchestra, NoSax NoClar, MonoNeon and many others from our programme. Estonian musicians are represented by Mingo Rajandi, Estonian Voices, JT Conception, Bianca Rantala, Karl Madis Pennar, Maria Faust etc.
We welcome you all to the ever-youthful Tallinn, steeped in history and brimming with vibrant energy, where you can relish the invigorating spring concerts and inviting ambiance of Jazzkaar at the Telliskivi Creative City. Tallinn – Full of Jazz!
