WEDNESDAY 6.3.2013 / 8.30 PM / DEN ATELIER, 54 RUE DE HOLLERICH, LUXEMBOURG
The Austrian quintet Bauchklang makes the club music of the future using the world’s oldest instrument: the human voice. But whatever you do, don’t call them a vocal ensemble, an a capella group, or even a beatboxing band. Beatboxing produces lifelike imitations of real sounds and hit songs sung by real people and played on real instruments. Bauchklang takes this to a whole new level. They’re a human groove machine, creating next-generation electronic dance tracks with their vocal cords, using their stomachs as their synthesisers and sequencers.
Christian Birawsky, mouthpercussion
Andreas Fraenzl, lead vocals,
Gerald Huber, human beatbox,
Alex Boeck, bass,
Philipp Sageder, vocal sounds
