jazzahead!

Description:

jazzahead!  The name has now come to signify an absolutely indispensable event on the international jazz scene. If you want to see and hear high-quality jazz, discover new bands, book them or sign them, then Bremen in April is the place to be.
jazzahead! is the biggest meeting of the international jazz scene anywhere, and worldwide market leader.
The fair is dedicated exclusively to jazz with trade fair, conferences and showcase concerts and has been held annually in April in Bremen since 2006. The participants come from all segments of the industry: musicians, promoters, bookers, labels, agencies, publishers, programme managers from clubs and festivals, distributors, production companies, interest groups, media and many more.
In 2019, 3,408 professional participants and exhibiting companies from 64 countries visited the trade fair. A total of 18,000 visitors attended the fair and the 100 concerts on the weekend with showcases, CLUBNIGHT and other concerts.

In 2006 we began to develop the trade fair into what is today: the world's most important meeting place for the international jazz scene. jazzahead! is the indispensible event for the industry, and also the place to witness high-quality, contemporary jazz from Germany, Europe and overseas. It is not just a trade fair for industry people, it is also open to the general public - with a programme that once each year turns Bremen, normally considered rather reticent in its ways, into a city teeming with jazz.

The jazzahead! Festival, which has taken place since 2011, both before and during the international jazz meeting, presents the art and culture scene of a partner country - which changes each year - as well as bands from all over the world in cooperation with around 60 regional, national and international cooperation partners. On the weekend of the trade fair itself, the programme reaches its climax with 40 showcase concerts, a GALA CONCERT and a CLUBNIGHT in 34 venues.
