Monday 25th July is the date for 4th round of Jazz North’s northern line artist roster showcase. The day long showcase will take place as part of this year’s Manchester Jazz Festival (mjf).
Northern line is an initiative designed to benefit artists, audiences and promoters in the North of England by making high quality jazz artists available to promoters with low financial risk.
Since 2013 northern line has supported 37 artists (160+ individual musicians) who in turn have made 391 performances in partnership with 130 promoters.
The next roster of artists will be announced in April 2016. Round 4 artists will be available for 16 months from 1st September 2016 - 31st December 2017.
While we don’t have a budget to help support EJN colleagues who would like to attend the showcase - we will see what we can do to help if anyone wants to come to the showcase and spend a day or two at the Manchester Jazz Festival.
Taking the scheme forwards, Jazz North is interested in talking with other European jazz agencies or regional organisations who might have similar objectives for extending the touring reach of their artists and explore the possibilities for artist exchanges and collaboration.
