One of the most important Nu Jazz guitarists and most creative, interesting voices on the Norwegian scene, Eivind Aarset (born in Kolbotn in 1961) moves between jazz and avantgarde. His debut was heralded by the New York Times as “one of the best electric jazz albums of the post Miles Davis era.” He then recorded “Dream Logic” (2012) with ECM. He has worked with Arve Henriksen, Arild Andersen, Jan Bang, Ian Garbarek, Brian Eno, Bill Bill Laswell and David Sylvian. His latest work is entitled “I.E.” (2015), and features rhythmic, psychedelic guitars.

Byetone is one of the founders of Raster Noton, a historical label that for 20 years has worked on the fusion of sound with the visual, constantly emphasizing the visually artistic dimension and the audio/video binomial. Musician and graphic artist, born in 1968, he has gone down various life-paths before dedicating himself to composing visual and electronic sound geometries. He has published important works such as Feld, Death of a Typographer, Plastic Star and most recently Symeta. His live set is characterized by a powerful beat and bassline, synth envelopes and oscillations, accompanied as usual by Raster-Noton's multimedia work.

One of the greatest players on the Norwegian scene, Stian Westerhus grew up around Rune Grammofon, and presents his most celebrated work where he explores the concept of resonance in a continual dialogue between a natural sound source and its digital reworking. Through the use of various guitar pedals and his amp, together with effects created by playing the strings with a bow, he builds “spectral” spaces, he invents new sounds that seem to come from other instruments.
