In 2012, Irish-born vocalist and composer Christine Tobin won a BASCA British Composers Award for her ninth album Sailing to Byzantium, her settings of WB Yeats poems. The award included a PRSF commission to write new music and Christine’s latest album PELT, her settings of poems and lyrics by Pulitzer Prize winning poet Paul Muldoon, is the result. Although a continuation of her alchemy with fine words and music, PELT marks a new direction and a new musical soundscape.
This special Turner Sims concert will also feature a guest reading by the acclaimed, multi award winning Brooklyn poet Eva Salzman, who has collaborated with Christine on past projects.
