During jazzahead! 2018 (19-22 April in Bremen) Flanders Arts Institute and Wallonie-Bruxelles Musique will organise a session about the Belgian jazz scene and the new online tool: BELGIAN JAZZ: let me be your guide.
In jazz, the live aspect is very important. Many promoters only book an act they have seen live themselves, or that is recommended by respected colleagues. To support our promoters in their task as “jazz ambassadors”, i.e. giving international colleagues a reliable insight into the Belgian jazz scene, Flanders Arts Institute and Wallonie-Bruxelles Musique created an online tool: www.belgianjazz.be.
The aim of this session is to discuss ways to support a jazz scene on an international level, to get inspired by each other’s practices. We present our jazz website and explain how we put the content together, but welcome other organisations and export centers to talk about ways to support their jazz scene too.
Open/Invitation: Open session/free participation
Contact: Lobke Aelbrecht (lobke@kunsten.be) // Liliana Graziani (liliana.graziani@cfwb.be)
Date: Friday 20th April
Time: 02:15 - 03:00 Pm
Place: Hall 6, Conference Room 1
