Tonality is a music organisation for that organizes projects and concerts. Led by Rembrandt Frerichs, Vinsent Planjer and Tony Overwater, musicians perform at the major venues and festivals in the Netherlands, Europe and beyond. Partially setting up collaboration with internationally admired classical musicians like Liza Ferschtman, world music artists Kayhan Kalhor, Hossein Alizadeh and Mahsa Vahdat and ofcourse Jazz musicians like Paolo Fresu, Trygve Seim, Verneri Pohjola and Sylvain Riffket. Core musicians Rembrandt, Tony and Vinsent, in addition to using well-known instruments like the piano, double bass and drums, also play the historically-inspired fortepiano and the violone.
Tonality's projects combines and unites three genres: jazz, classical music, and music from the Middle East. These three spheres of influence appear in all Tonality projects. Where the emphasis lies, differs with each project.
