The 32nd edition of the festival carries on until October 18th. One will be able to explore the diverse roussillonese heritage through picnic on Sundays and decentralized concerts. Then, we will meet for a very dense week in Perpignan.
Of course, we adapted the festival to the restrictions implied by the sanitary crisis, but we do hope to be able to set up all the concerts as planed.
The Festival meets up at Perpignan this week end, at the cinéma castillet, with a solo from Marc Demereau and a movie, then in Alenya, Port-Vendres and Planèzes for a musical world trip, significant of the Festival.
Indeed, since the beginning, it gave a special room to the link between contemporary jazz and all continents world music.Malagasy songs, gigs from the Reunion Island or Middle East, Algerian electro-raï, Anglo-Saxon or American folk songs, Brazilian roots, African traditions... Invated musicians of this 32e édition dare any mixings for their creations !
Some names are outshining : the American saxophone player James Carter, the duo Ballaké Sissoko/Vincent Segal, doublebass players Renaud Garcia Fons & Claude Tchamitchian, flute player Naissam Jalal, bass player Vincent Courtois...
20 concerts dedicated to thediscovery, conviviality... a festival curious and unique.
